Hi Everyone,

Last July, my fiancee Polly was diagnosed with breast cancer at the tender age of 33. She had two operations and a round of IVF prior to 18 weeks of chemotherapy followed by a month of radiotherapy. It wasn't a happy time but she's through it all now and the prognosis is as good as it gets.

Polly's undertaking a 20 mile sponsored walk in aid of Breast Cancer Care on June 11th together with her older brother and sister and we'd be grateful for any support you'd be prepared to give

My Mum bless her went through this ordeal luckily being diagnosed early and ended up having her lymph glands removed. So I can totally appreciate what both Polly and yourself went/are going through. I also know that from my own experience that just because the cancer has been dealt with aftercare is also a very important; so funding towards all the different aspects of care and research are required.

I am very glad Polly has had the all clear as has my Mum. I am as skint as always at the moment (Reno-itus), but will make a donation towards Polly's well worthy cause and wish her luck in her challenge.

Always a good cause !

Thanks very much for the kind words guys, and to those who've made donations - the gap to the target has shrunken considerably! (Polly was out doing a 14 mile "training walk" when I posted originally - FWIW I'm stuck doing revision for my finals!).

If there's one thing this experience has shown me, is that Cancer is everywhere. It's something like 1 in 4 of us will suffer it at some point. It's the reason I'll never meet her dad too.

I currently know 5 people under treatment, sadly not that rare at all.

On a brigher note, I know loads of chaps who are currently fit and healthy and own some pretty nice cars. I urge you all to take care of them and use them to the full while you can.
