Rear bumper decals ..two questions: Where? Which is correct?

Postby 2P5T » Mon Feb 28, 2011 11:52 pm

Where do we get these from now? Through the club or ..?

What is the correct arrangement of decals for a UK 1986 Atmo (not mine).

1. Renault (left hand side ) + GTA V6 (right hand side)

2. Renault Alpine (left hand side ) + GTA V6 (right hand side)

I assume the placement of "GTA V6" is correct on these cars (it's further to the left on a turbo to allow space for the "Turbo" script).

Andrew (turbodog) will be able to confirm but I think that the early cars had the following:

RENAULT then GTA V6 (or V6 Turbo) on the far right of the rear bumper.

And the later cars 1988 onwards dropped the Renault and just had:

GTA V6 (or V6 Turbo)

This is for UK cars only as they still could not use the "Alpine" label but wanted to drop the Renault tag to try and boost sales.

There are also two different colours.

We have a few of the original transfers still in stock but any decent graphics place should be able to copy them OK.

.. but they'd need something TO copy. The Atmo in question has had a full repaint and I don't think the originals still exist.

How much are the originals please, Stephen and presumably it's silver ones which are required for a red car like the one pictured? Or maybe it's random .. like the colours of the seats and door cards!

(I'm guessing the other colour is dark grey for use on a silver car and possibly the pearl white and yellow ones too?)

Mine is a late GTA Turbo (1990) and is badged up as an Alpine? It has one decal on the rear that reads "Alpine Turbo"? I know that this has never been replaced so I assume some must have come into the UK badged as Alpines, or did mine slip through with teh worng badging?

I bought my Atmo new in 1990 and was Alpine badged. On the rear bumper only "GTA V6" was affixed on the near side, but I got the "Alpine" decal from, I think it was called Radborne Racing, which I fitted on the off side.

Postby Miles » Thu Mar 03, 2011 8:11 pm

Changed his name has he.
I wonder why?...

His later name was a reciprical of the truth....
Times one 45000 mile engine vanished and large turbo sent for refurb arrived back as a small turbo a year later.
