All will be revealed ......... in the Members section

As you'll see from my avatar, I've finally paid my Club membership and now I can see the members section.

Go on, Lee, put me out of my misery. I've spent the last half hour looking for the answer to this one! Could you point me at the correct article in the Members section, please?

Thanks

:D

How to get the air vents out either side of the binnacle to give the speedo connectors a wiggle (or do I just need to get one of them out)

Thanks

Jon

They just pull out but they will be difficult ,once they've come out once it'll be easier ....
There are two clips on both sides, you need to pull very hard on the outer edge left and right .Try and pull out and inwards on either side .The clips are more like sprung ramps with a steep and a shallow angle .The shallow leads it in then it clips over on the steep .About 2 mm flex .
They are a botch as you can't get anything in to lever without causing some damage
Depends how fussy you are but I'd take the main binnacle apart as you are less likely to damage that ,but watch out for the clips on that as well

Thanks Lee.

Yes, in the past I've taken whole the binnacle apart - steering wheel off etc. and got in there OK to have a go with some switch cleaner.
It's always a bit more involved than you expect - I missed an England world cup game last time I did this (that must have been in 2006!).

I was hoping that there might be a quick way in - sadly it seems not. This sounds almost as fiddly as getting the whole binnacle apart - for the 1st time at least and with a risk of some 20-year-old plastic going *snap*.

Curiously, I usually find that if the speedo's being naughty flicking the rear demister on then off brings it back. Got that tip from someone (Mr Dell, I think) on here.

:D

Thanks very much for the details, though. Maybe I prised these out from the inside - i.e. when I've got the binnacle apart - that might things easier next time.
