Neat idea - however I think it'll probably oscillate around 20psi, you may be lucky though.

Thanks Martin  .

The response is reasonably damped actually, it's a HKS purpose designed valve. As far as a control loop is concerned, both systems are progressive and mechanically damped. It looked fine during the few blasts on Sunday. The spread (control band delta) is going to widen anyway as Lee winds in higher final hold pressures in stages to map the high numbers, and then it will probably be only used to control the very peak -30 psi ish

Lee, do you have a TurboFast or similar electronic controller? If you do, then you could control the BOV exactly as a waste gate easily from the cockpit. That’s an even neater idea

Yeap, that will do it. Probably a bit complicated as you say, and have to do it through the Adapt laptop software.

I think I would go with a pressure regulator, configured just as EFI’s drawing but sub the electronic gizmo above for a Norgren (IMI) pressure regulator R07-200-RNKG Inline 07 ¼ Regulator Relieving 7Bar. It works in reverse – the pressure reg drops the supply line pressure and supplies it to the back side of the BOV diaphragm, fit on my old brass fitting. Wind the reg right in and no pressure will be applied to the back side, so it will operate at what ever you set the BOV spring, ok. Then start winding the reg out (and you will have to turn it a fair way as it’s 7 bar range) it will then start providing added pressure to assist the spring. This way, at a turn of a knob you can set your peak pressure. I’m sure you should be able to find a cheapy cheap equivalent… there you go a mid week coffee challenge

that be the jobby 8) .. that was too easy, now to find one on fleebay for a fiver ha-ha+... Mind you with RS and Farnell (has them as well, few pennies more), you could have it tomorrow  I suggest you get your special tool out and check that there BOV isn't leaking on that side of the valve, can't remember now. Probably a good idea not to take it a part, laugh.

The funny thing is, the higher this thing gets set the happier Scoff will be  ... youiz know me meaning...

  I think just reasonably, but I would however need a boost input function that conforms to ∫δ(t).exp(-st) dt = ∫δ(t) dt = 1 to actually test it though

I think with a bit of dust and road crud on the shaft, it will quickly become over-damped. :)

Mucho boost = mucho heat
I need to get the charge temp down before mapping it any higher or it'll just be a waste of time ...
Fitted the Fiat intercooler in series with the CC and hope it's better than the std GTA .It looks like it should be ,core is a lot thicker and flow should be a lot better ..

Haven’t you thought of using a PWR Charge Cooler Lee, Not cheap I know but they certainly do the business, Ime using a 6”x 8” now and the temps are never much over 30c running 21psi even in the hot spell we had in summer.
