If you look next to your glass hatch catches there is a hole that vents into the rear spoiler grill section...

On post 87 turbos there's a coolant pipe that runs off and up thro the blower unit next to the expansion tank and then continues via rigid pipe into the turbo.Is this for temp reading ?

Yeh,but, no, but,why does it go thro the blower unit, there is some sort of metal piping within the blower body.Looking at the power intake system I would have to bin the blower unit so what happens to this setup.I can reroute the turbo feed.

There's a small finned water cooled heat sink in the blower.

Ive never fitted the intake system to a car with the water feeds. If you want I can send you a scatched system to have a play with..

That would be great if you could 8) I think most of the rigid feed pipe will be clear,might have to cut it back slightly .The effect of the sink in the blower must be minimal and not constant ,so repositioning the path of the run thro an area with airflow should be sufficient.I'll try and get hold of a surface temp probe ( used to read injection mould tool temps ) and take some readings of the air chambers/pipes as a before and after exercise.I think polishing the V6 chamber will help ,it's not going to cost a bean, some very sore fingers tho.

Another option is of course PI 2.
Would the filter box fit in the space where the existing turbo pipe
is?If I put a dump valve T piece to join the filter to the turbo I could then
attach the breather pipe to that.Then I could still remove all the existing system but leave the cooling/blower unit and keep the engine cover ducting active .

I think you are suggesting to have the air box about 10 inches to the right of the turbo. If so, that area gets hot, which is not the sort of air your turbo motor will really want to breath. The air box in the bottom of the wing is sucking in cold air, what the turbo's like to breath.

I don't think that will matter as it's the supply temp thats important.
It's not going to pick up much heat on its way thro the filter.Getting the intake in the best position is the key.

don't like to be a bearer of bad news mate but After previous experience and words from other people i wouldn't let my car near Prima Racing.

Spend a few quid more and travel a bit and get a proper job done by someone with a better reputation.

I don't know if Nick Hill deals with turbo engines but he's damn good on N.A. race engines. and he's pretty close to you if you are in the Notts/ Derbs / Staffs area. ther's no harm in contacting him, I have a Hill powers race engine in One of my Spiders and it's pretty powerful and reliable.

Rupert,

I have a Yellow Road car with Cup Engine cover, K n N Filter and Schrick Cams.

A Yellow / Grey Cup car with a Hill Power engine reported to have 215 bhp but i've never had it checked on a dyno

A Clio Willams Blue / Silver Cup car running a Standard cup engine and headlight kit. Took it to Spa Francorchamps on a Track day a couple of weeks ago and turned a few heads and surprised alot of people especially Porsche and BMW owners when they found it hard to keep up with us in the bends!

I'll be taking the road car to Zolder at the weekend as it's here in Belgium already, I keep the race cars in the uk.

are you going to Zolder at the weekend, maybe we can talk about some headlight covers?
