Then big trouble.

Started at 6am and by 8pm my hands were washed and I was driving home!

Crickey, it's OK for some, I started a clutch at 10am today (yesterday), and I am still at it, just checking how to convert 2.5 DaNm into something English.
Taking it easy though, and found a couple of surprises, as well as taking distress calls from fellow GTA owners because they could not get hold of you.

See you en-France.

2.5 DaNm = 25Nm = 18.44lb/ft

18 ftLbs does not seem much to hold the clutch onto the flywheel, so I added a bit more, like doubled it.
Well, it's all back in now, just got to connect up a load of ancilleries and then test it ready for Macon.
And yes, the old friction plate was just starting to wear on the rivets.
New friction plate is 8mm thick, old one was down to 5.75 and w/s manual states 6.5 is min.
So I wonder how some clever manufacturer measures clutch friction plate thickness while it is all in situ. I guess through one of the inspection holes, the distance between flywheel and cover plate???

You'll have fun the next time you want to swap the clutch then matey
it doesn't need to be very tight as it's under load all the time .
