alpine renault racing

Postby Wrightbr » Mon May 24, 2004 8:47 am

Had my car fully serviced by Alpine Renault Racing at the weekend. Very pleased with the work done, thanks to Paul and Cynthia. Would recommend them to other alpine owners. Very knowledgeable and very friendly and very reasonably priced.

Thanks,
Brad

A 30,000 mile service that Renault wanted £600 to carry out was done for £290. Paul done a lot more work than Renault would have done (a few requests that I asked for as well, i.e running a new earth etc) and thoroughly checked the whole car over (chassis etc). Fuel filters were replaced etc

Cheers

ARR Servicing

Postby Guest » Wed Aug 18, 2004 11:36 am

Hi,me again.
I too have used ARR for many years for major services on my GTA Turbo
F650 RRK and also for a clutch change.
Ok I could do these my self however I am keen to keep the full service history on my car plus the fact that Paul Sage is pretty ace on anything to do with GTA's and will always give free advice on anything to do with these cars. His place is also an Alladins Cave of spare parts on often he will have some small item in stock that Renault will take ages to get on back order to Dieppe.
I live in Bedford and took my GTA down for a 60k service in Feb 2004.

Costs,
Labour £ 150.00
Parts incuding new Mintex Front Pads & new Dot 5 Brake fluid, £84.50

I also had the car MOT'd whilst I was there so that if it did fail on anything ( handbrake's been a problem in the past) then Paul could repair it so it would pass.

Hope this helps, Regards, Barry.

I've now decided to start servicing my car myself. The local garage I used to take it to and have used for years have recently closed. And all the Alpine specialists are an impractical distance away for me because I use my car daily. At the end of the day it's just an engine that requires oil, filters and plugs changing. Just depends if you're prepared to get a bit oily and have the time I suppose. Since I plan to keep my car, I'm not concerned about a stamped history for resale, as long as I know it's properly and regulary maintained. Also, at my last service I used up the last page to stamp in the sservice book!

Pauls been looking after my GTA for 5-6 years now and has always maintained a high standard. I'm incredibly fussy who I let work on my cars but they are very knowledgeable and I have become firm friends with the family and staff there, as have many other people who's cars they look after. The project that Paul has been undertaking for me has been incredibly complicated (changing a Safrane biturbo engine into a A610/ GTA hybrid) and although its taken some time to get there I can't think of anyone else who I could have entrusted with the job. Steve Dell's supercharged 24v conversion will be next up!

Yeah, I understand. Anything more specialised and technical than 'sloshing' some oil in, I'll always take it to a specialist! I certainly couldn't build myself hybrid turbo safrane engines! :-)

I've always found any of the Alpine specialists to be very helpful and knowledgable. I had my clutch replaced by Roadspeed in Stroud. I was very impressed they (Chris Rabbets I think) drove all the way up to Runcorn, Cheshire, from Stroud late at night to collect my car on a trailer and then drove all the way back! Can't complain about that for service!

Servicing

Postby clivebawden » Mon Aug 23, 2004 4:32 pm

I've just had my '88 atmo serviced by Roadspeed and I'm very pleased with the result. The service included replacing the rear pads, and I'd asked them to look at the wipers as they weren't clearing the whole screen and weren't parking prorperly. This evidently involved dismantling the mechanism and tightening everything up, and they now work perfectly. total bill: £257 - not bad I reckon.
