Alloy Wheels to sell?

Postby A610GA » Fri Apr 08, 2005 4:44 pm

Anybody,
I have a set of the original 5 spoke type alloys that I need to decide the fate of. I think they are the GTA type as the front are 7J (same as my A610) but the rears are 8J not 9J. The rears are in good order but the fronts need refurbishing. Is it worth spending £60 each on the fronts to get them perfect and what are the set likely to sell for or should I advertise them as they are?
Thanks :?:

A610 (& Spider) 7J Fronts are £140+VAT new

A610 9J Rears are £299.25+VAT new

The reason your rears are 8J is because they are spider rears. People buy them because they only cost £170+VAT new. They fit straight on and most people can't tell the difference 8)

Your set would be £620+VAT new, so at most half that second-hand say £300 if you are lucky depending on tyres etc.

The market is a bit limited as they won't fit GTA's due to the 5 stud pattern (GTA's are 4 stud).

Also best to be honest & list the rears as Spider wheels.

So probably not worth refurbing the fronts at £60 each. You should be able to get them done for less than that though.

Thanks Stephen,
If anyone shows interest from the posting I will discuss it with them but I will not advertise them at the moment. The front ones have been kerbed and by the time they are brought back to new condition by "Spit and Polish" it is likely to be £60 each. :(

Standard GTA wheels

Postby Tony Smith » Sun Apr 10, 2005 8:04 am

Paul down ARR can do an exchange set of wheels with diamond cut faces and Mille Milles diamond cut centre caps (RSR can't do the caps for some reason) for reasonable money. These look the nuts as Steve Dell can confirm. I'll find out a price for you. And get Steve to put a picture up somewhere

Spare wheels now sold to a man with a Spider !!!!
The ones on my A610 are now refurbed and bearing a set of Dunlop 9000 tyres that seem to work well. :D
