A610 FRONT LIGHT UNIT

I have just been costing up some parts for my A610 Turbo as I work through it and sort out any problems. Renault make Gordon Brown seem charitable. They want £382.00 + vat for a front right lower light (fog / main). Does anyone know if these can be purchased for more sensible money? It is a Bosch unit and the glass is broken and seems removable. call these guys, transport services 02890 781230 they are bosch dealers, quote the bosch part no.

I can get the whole light unit or just the lense. They are not cheap, but far cheaper than the Renault price. Ill find out later if they are still available..

I think it's time we all tried to put some pressure on Renault to treat the Alpines as a heritage vehicle worthy of some respect and not come up with such rip off prices. I run 60s Rover V8s and parts for those are much cheaper and more available than I am finding for my A610. I am fixing and substituting parts that I would rather buy from Renault if they were even half sensibly priced. Porsche are cheaper and that makes no sense at all.

May be a bit boring. Anyway I have phoned up Renault Uk today to complain about their attitude to pricing parts for their geat heritage vehicles from Alpine. Will keep you all posted.
Car and bike list is:
1. A610 Turbo Montana with full Renault Uk re-paint in 1996 so no micro blisters. Just upgrading hi fi but otherwise like new. Took six months to find one this good with only a few electrical faults that I am sorting out.
2. Volvo V70 2.5 Turbo 5 cylinder (no I dont wear a Trilby hat). It is quicker than A T5 0 - 30 and in truth does most things I could ever want from a car now I have upgraded all the bits I can. I call it the "OVLOV" as I would not be seen dead in a Volvo.
3. Rover P5B Coupe (dark blue / silver roof) just filmed by Top Gear, fully restored with engine upgraded to 200bhp with Vitesse heads, Vitesse pistons, Holley 390CF carb, piper cam, Offenhouser manifold, hand made exhaust manifold, beefed up gearbox etc etc. Also Laserline Cat 1 alarm, centraL locking, cruise control, sat nav, Road Pilot, CD, Sub Woofers, Focal component speakers etc etc.
4. Rover P5B Coupe. 46,000 miles. Dark green / silver roof. Totally original.
5. Rover P5B saloon. 90% restored. Dark green. Just finishing a TVR engine for it but will otherwise be original. Eek!!
6. Moto Guzzi V50 Monza 500cc V twin bike just imported from Italy. Needs a couple of days to tweak it but very low kilometerage and in good order. I have driven it for 7 miles so far.

Now here is an interesting thing, I complained to Renault Customer Service on 0800 072 3372 about the price of the front lower headlight on my A610 and after 2 days they phoned me back and said if I ordered one now it would be cheaper. I checked with my dealer and low and behold it has come down from £382 + vat to £250 + vat. Apparently some of the parts were re-priced by "MISTAKE".
Lets all phone up when a part is a silly price and see what we can achieve folks.
