Heated rear windsceen connector

Postby Felipe » Thu Feb 11, 2010 5:58 pm

Hi,

Does anyone have any advice on how best to re-attach the metal connector that connects the heated rear window element to the wiring. It has become detached from the rear screen and is not obviously not working.

I had though of cleaning both surfaces and trying to glue it back on, but obviously the glue will form a barrier and the current won't get through.

Is this something best left to a garage or an easy repair. Does a special "Conductive" glue exist?

All advice most welcome and thank you
At last I bought one !

I used a special epoxy glue with silver in it called 'Frost-Fighter'.
I had to order it from the US over the internet but it was fairly reasonable - OK, it's $28 but you get plenty of the glue in the pack - and most importantly works a treat.

Here's the link Frost Fighter 2000 Tab Repair Kit
