Plip remote central locking problems.

Hi again,

Been a busy day today, getting to know my GTA !.
Only 2 things not working on my GTA now, and thats the Interior Fan speed, and the Plip remote locking.

Both my door locks work fine, by using the key on either door. The interior door handles also work fine.
However the Plip does not work.

The last owner purchased a Plip receiver module, and a key, (From a R5 ?) Which i assume is matched to the module unit.
Today i removed the original IR module from the roof, and installed the replacement one which looks identical.
However, still nothing.

Any ideas guys ?. At this moment, i am assuming the Key and Module the last owner purchased are not actually paired.

Hi Paul,

I might be able to help you on this one, firstly if you can open up the fob/s and tell me what type of intergrated circuit it/they use. If it has "TEA5500" or"TEA5500T" then they can be matched to your module/s.
If you are not too sure what they are, a pic of the chip will surfice.

Unfortunately I cant do those, however just in case you do have a matched pair, have you checked the batteries, and does the little red LED light up, just to the left of the press spot when pressed. Battery contact do give a lot of problems on this type of fob, especially when the batteries get low. I notice you have the code on one of the modules, was there a code on either of the fobs?
I think though, as you have the code for one of the modules, Renault can supply a fob at a cost, or try and get a fob with the 5500 chips in it, and I can reprogram it for you.
