Newbie looking at GTAs

Postby lanciaman » Sat Nov 21, 2009 7:59 pm

Hallo!

I am thinking of getting a GTA as a toy to replace the Lancia's I have just sold. Was thinking of an early/mid 90s Merc SL but too leaden and boring. Have admired the GTA since it came out and I was 18 or so.

Have seen this one for sale, which some of you no doubt will have clocked. Any opinions?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

Its on pistonheads and an ad on this site also. To be honest, it will be used only on high days and I am not overly bothered about a turbo or a 2.8 n/a version. In fact 2.8 may be better as less to go wrong.

Any advice and opinions very welcome! Please!!!

That's BIGMVS's car and seems to be getting a lot of interest lately.

One of the very rare fully loaded cars.

Just signed on tonight and see he is a member on here, so that's a bonus. Just looking for a tidy car which needs not a lot doing to it. Doesn't have to be immaculate, just something that is sound, reliable and not a shed!

Off to get dinner now, so feel free to do a sales pitch. Will give you a call tomorrow about it. As I said in the mail, I am 30 miles north of Aberdeen so can't pop round to take a look at it. Would arrange to get it transported up so all the info you have more than welcome. 100 pages on every stone chip, non working guages etc!!!!

cheers

No worries, I'm as honest as the day is long me, no sales pitch required.

You can contact the previous owner if you wish, A now retired vicar who only used the car for attending baptisms

Looked a very nice example at the last Northern Meet. Don't think you would go far wrong with this one as Martin knows his GTA's
