But there again, those prepared to speed a little more to protect their motor, and especially the degradation of the head gasket go electric – post ignition off cool down period after shut down. Time to come out of the cave, the crud designed PRV pump really should be committed to the bin, the ones fitted to the GTA are simply pants.

I didn't know there was an electric option ... sounds interesting, any chance of more details on such a thing if its possible for a PRV

Yes I have been running the EWP pump with the digital controller this year. The pump is fitted in the front next to the radiator and the system works well!

It wouldn't happen to be one of these would it?

Nice looking bit of kit, but a bit pricey for me at the moment ... I've still not sold the z3 :(

Glad its going well Tony 8)

There are many advantages, better temperature control and programmable. Eliminates the T'stat, easier bleeding, and the most important for the PRV in a GTA - heat soak and local boiling. When you switch off after a hard hot run the water will locally boil around the heads and this breaks down the head gaskets, they literally fall apart. The majority of engines when stripped, the head gasket looks more like a moth eaten rag - the controlled water flow is completely shot. The electric pump can be programmed to staying pumping until a set temperature drop, or set time eliminating the boiling. Simply better technology.

Wise investment in my book.

Surely the recession has not hit your Z3 market as well has it?
