I'm home and grinning after a 300 mile drive in my latest acquisition - a GTA Turbo :D

Image

Most of you will know it as Ruperts old car, I hope he doesn't mind me stealing one of his pics as I haven't tanken any of it yet. It needs a few bits sorting out, but nothing major and I got it for what I consider to be a good price ;)

First impressions:
Boost is fun
The handling and performance are good - its nice not to have obtrusive power steering.
Trim, plastic, stalks, dashboard lights etc are hideous.
The seat seems a long way from the door - A 944 has the handbrake in the same the position but you have to squeeze your hand between the seat and the door to reach it.
Pedals are very close together - the clutch position will take some getting used to, along with nowhere to rest my left foot.
Suspension is stiff - even compared to my other sports cars with stiff suspension.
Wipers are just plain weird.
Did I say boost is fun

All said, I'm loving it all ready and look forward to driving on some of my fav lanes in Lincs/Norfolk ... I am not happy about the fact I have to drive a Range Rover tomorrow - if only the GTA had a boot.

looks nice mate ,just need some wheel centers. you will get use'd to the pedals, just move you're heels sideways to the left when you need to use the clutch and brake. if you hve any problems don't worry, there are plenty of club members who know these cars inside out. just get outthere and drive it.

Cheers guys.
Andy - I have the wheel centres, they're in a box with some a/c components I got with the car.
Simon - don't worry, I'll be joining the club shortly

You may find the pedals easier with a pair of "driving shoes", anything narrow.

I got used to my 610 and I also have the nickname "sideshow Bob" (but you have to have seen a particular simpsons ep to get that!).The right shoes definitely help; I'm a size 13...
