Sue and I really enjoyed our trip "overseas" to the big country, It was really well orginised by Andrew. so all thanks must go to him, plus he and Chris put themselves out to make us very welcome as we had not been to any club meets before. It was also very nice to put faces to members who contribute to the forum.....it was also nice to meet Martin even though he continued to have a pop at me....suggesting that My Alp was running rich  .....my Alp does not do rich!!!....it would`nt dare, but I wont embarass him about the state of his attempt at getting the glue off his removed headlining or the non working fuel gauge etc....I would`nt do that type of thing  . However all joking aside its a long time since my Alp has been put through its paces but it performed well without complaining...and got us home last night after five days away, I`ve now clocked over 32k miles....must be careful...I do`nt want to wear it out.
Just a note to Stephen....please read PM`s...and if you see another collapsable bucket in poundland, can you get me one so I can keep my Alp clean when I am away....it saves using the waste bin in the hotel, managment do`nt like it when you walk through reception with it  ...can`t think why :?:
Anyway thanks to everyone who attended, you all made us feel most welcome.
Here are some pics.
This was taken on the move, they said the sceenery would be fantastic....i`ll take their word for it  and no, the windscreen is`nt dirty before Martin has another pop

Tour of North Wales 2009

Postby andy001 » Wed Aug 19, 2009 10:37 pm

Hi Everyone

Glad to hear you all got home safe and sound. It was great meeting you all Sheryl and I really enjoyed the weekend. Special thanks to Andrew for planning a great tour and thanks to Ray and John for stopping back when we got seperated, I was dreading Sheryl having to map read..(she's not that bad really)..LOL.. Joking apart it was a blast.

The old GTA hasn't had such a good shake down in all the years I've had it I was amazed at just how well it performed. Only downside is its such a long time to the next one..maybe what we need is more meets for us Northern Boys!!!

Thanks everybody hope to meet you all soon....

Good to see you've managed to sort out the pics :-)

Here is the EVO magazine picture of the Top 10 of the 100 Greatest drives article and I'm sure we all recognise the location.

Looks like there is a red GTA in the queue towing a caravan. Is this just to wind up Clarkson too.

Spent last weekend doing the Snowdonia Classic Ford Tour with my brother's mob. You might recognise some of the roads and locations:

And this is how the reservoir up the private road at Deiniolen looks on a glorious clear sunny day:

We were lucky we had great weather all weekend. The roads were brilliant and the views spectacular. Hopefully we'll have equally good weather for our next tour. :D

Yes there were a couple of mk3 Capris with us. I think one was originally an 'S' but they both had Cosworth turbo engine conversions.

My C&SC Feb '10 issue tells me that November is a risky time of year in the lowlands of the sh**p sh**ing.
"Jayne Gilmour, the new Welsh are rep of the GCCG organised a tour of the Brecon Beacons on 28 Nov. Despite rain, 19 hard souls turned up in 9 cars, furthist travelled 100 miles."
Only 100 miles I hear you say, complete gays I say :D :D :D
As for 19 in 9 cars, at least one car must have had a 3 some, oooo-errrr :!:
