Postby steve barker » Mon Aug 03, 2009 4:56 pm

Hi guys,
Sorry i aint been in touch with the lads who pm'd me a couple of months back, ive been away in newzealand for a couple of months and just got back recently! Anyway i've just bought a 94 A610 and took it to york yesterday first run did a 13.9 @ 97mph,2nd run did a 13.7@98mph quite happy with that in standard trim(pretty much standard times.) so after some burned fingers and some pipe chopping i adjusted the actuator and fitted a bleed valve to liven things up a tad boost was set to peak at 18psi and was dropping back to 16 and the time difference was very different first run was a 13.3@105mph 2.1 0-60ft time,2nd run a 13.005 @ 106 @106mph 3rd run did a 12.9@106 1.8 0-60ft time.
pretty chuffed with a car that apart from raised boost is totally standard!
regards steve b.

Compared to Brunty

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Aug 04, 2009 7:46 am

What is it about Brunty? Steve was running identical terminal speeds to that with about 12 psi boost (98 mph) but couldn't get under 14.5 secs for the 1/4. Likewise Lee's GTA made 13.2 at York but with no changes or discernable differences couldn't get under 14 secs at Brunty a week or two before. I reckon being uphill adds about a second to the quarter mile times there or is it just poor traction?

My 13.3@105 was at Pod .Only just got 100 terminal at York in 13.6 ish I think ..
It could be down to the test equipment .Remember it's a flash sat nav at Brunt
Although the BHP test seems to pan out from my RR results .

I doubt it. Racelogic, very expensive, very accurate and used by all the magazines.

its uphill for a start so that will affect the 0-60 time at least you may gain a little on the down hill run with terminal speed on the down hill bit

its quite a rough surface so it may not give as low rolling resitance as the Pod plus I beleive they spray the pod to ensure max grip and the Pod will be well rubbered up for extra grip compared to Brunters. I would take Brunters a realistic average road performance. I am sure the mags used to say add .5 of a second for 0-60 approx at Brunters or maybe that was the whole Qtr can really remember

12.9 is pretty impressive though 8)

Si21 to get realistic times you really need to find a road in Rotherhithe with a bus stop and a zebra crossing not to mention a large sweeping bend eh Mr Dell
