I've given him the bad news.

I think this must be Trevors car which was recently subject to a claim. If it is I believe it the damage was extensive.

Here's the conversation. This is a true transcript. I couldn't even get a word in. Maybe he'd had a few similar calls previously or just got out of bed the wrong side.

Mr D: Hi I'm interested in the GTA, I sent you an email but you asked me to call you. How much do you realistically want?

Salvage man: The asking price or close to it.

Mr D: If it was undamaged maybe, but not in that condition.

Salvage man: I'm not interested in talking to idiots

Mr D: I run the Owners Club. You can check out the price guide.

Salvage man: Don't tell me how to do my job. Don't slag off the car. I know what it's worth.

I quite fancied the interior but looking at the pics it wasn't that great anyway or has been damaged in storage.

Unfortunately it looks like it'll be there for a VERY long time!

I'm guessing the insurance company must have told him how much they paid out on agreed value (£6K) and he's working on that basis. Oh dear!

I sent the guy a message through ebay a few weeks ago about this car and got the reply
"WE DONT HAVE TIME TO ANSWER EMAILS CALL"

I didn't bother calling as the first thing I would do was ask them to email me some pics.
