does anyone know if the BMW 5 series 'angle eye' type headlights are a regular headlamp, as in not needing additional wiring to support gas discharge?

i was thinking (always a dangerous thing :? ) that it might make a nice looking modification to the GTA?

i don't think that the lamps would be to hard to mount as the current lamps are only mounted to a flat piece of tin with some holes cut into it. it would not be to hard to get a new piece laser cut.

It is definately possible as Axel Ress has done this . If you look on ebay you will find that (sometimes) sets are available already mounted on a suitable plate. If you buy from the USA these are also very good value due to the exchange rate.
This is the sort of thing I mean...

HI,
I would also be very interested in this conversion. I did not know when I bought my A610 that is was only suitable for driving in daylight hours! I knew the lights were not perfect but I did not know the dip beam was non existent. Is there any simpler improvement?
Thanks
Geoff

It sounds as though you'll need to check the earthing.

All Alpines seem to be heading for Surrey!

Postby Tony Smith » Wed Mar 16, 2005 3:22 pm

Another Farnham boy like Simon! How many in Surrey now Steve? Nice pub on the A25 between Redhill and Godstone, I'll find out the name and post it in the meetings section. Massive car park, good food I've heard too. Might make a nice warm summer evening venue in a month or two.
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.
