Le Mans 2009

Postby John Sweet » Mon Jan 26, 2009 1:05 pm

Time to start planning.

Who else is going down? My plan is to
Catch ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe Thursday morning
Drive down Thursday (in GTA Le Mans no 19) via N138, arriving in time for second practise
Not sure which campsite we will stay in
return Monday, maybe stopping at factory if anything interesting is going on.

Is anyone else interested in coming along?

I was planning on not going, but, If Mr Law goes in his and I could get my car ready in time .....you know the one I was not going to rush to get ready    for anything.
It might be quite a rare site 3 British Lemans together, although I would have to admit that my car is a genuine replica built with genuine Renault panels.

How long have you owned it?

If I could I might be persuaded

not sorted times etc. yet or even what car im takin

pre-lim idea was drive down either wednesday or thursday
staying in masion blanc (best camp site imo)

returning sunday night via calais/dover (train or ferry)

i am being fairly versitile at the moment so i may well be joining you m8 and going from newhaven we will see how things pan out
i am going to e-mail a company i have used in the past when organising a trip with 21toc to see what sort of prices and deals he has going
i will post later to let any interested know exactly how much etc.

Revised plans

Postby John Sweet » Mon Mar 23, 2009 1:15 pm

The Newhaven dieppe ferries were at silly times so now I can confirm I will be travelling via the tunnel instead as follows.

Thursday 10AM - Shuttle
Monday 4PM Shuttle return

On the way down I plan to drive straight down then camp (but will stop on the way somewhere warm and dry if it is anything like 2007).

Camping will be in Blue Nord.

On the way back I am staying in the Formula 1 in Alencon Sunday night.

Anyone else interested in a blast down the 138 trying to void the speed traps?

Hi John

I will be in Le Mans from the Monday with the 24 valve. Plan to be at the Saint Saturnin Classic British welcome on the Friday morning and may be able to link up with you for the journey home.

Regards

Iain
