Shhhh

I have been in touch and offered him my spare gearbox, he has had enough though by the sound of things.

I'll bosh a bid in, space and funds are tight at the moment though

Like we always say it's worth as much as someone is prepared to pay.

That's cheap compared to me buying an engine and box from a scrappie recently for nearly £900   (There were a couple of other bits as well though  )

OK - time to fess up - it was me !!

I tend to agree with the more learned members of this board - I think I did pay a tad too much  but the car has a few parts I need to finish off my runner , and the rest will be sold.

I am a long time lurker on this Forum , always having had a sneaking liking for Alpines - after all - I have got a Matra Murena , so am no stranger to "odd" French cars

My mind was made up back in July , when I went to Classic Lemans , and obviously saw quite a few GTA s (I dare say a few of you were there)
In fact I offered to swap my Jagermeister RSR for a GTA turbo with a very nice chap on the Caen ferry - but I don't think he believed me

Anyway - to cut a long story short , I saw a rather neglegted Turbo on Ebay a few weeks later - only 30 miles down the road . I went to see the car , bid on it - lost out to a Frenchman , who then failed to collect - so 3 weeks later the car was mine.
A bit of tlc on the handbrake , new wiper motor ( ) headlamp glass , and a stainless exhaust later the car flew through the MOT , and has now joined my fleet.

I am collecting the "new" car tomorrow - so we shall see exactly what it is I have bought !!!

I was hoping someone would buy it to track it  A few of the RTOC lads showed an interest .Depending on what you need for spares I don't think you'll lose out selling the rest on .........leave it till the Spring though when they all come out from under the covers and won't start

Hope all the bits are OK for you. I have a gearbox btw if it's better than you expect! Check underneath, if there is little/no rust it might be worth saving after you have swapped or taken bits from it?

With Big MVS on this one.

If it's OK chassis wise I'm sure everyone will do what they can to supply either the bits you need to fix your exisiting car or the bits to fix both rather than see another broken.
