Autocar Magazine Mention

Postby mellowyellowa610 » Wed Oct 29, 2008 8:40 pm

Just a nice little mention for Alpine in Autocar this week from Steve Cropley...

'Delighted to see Renault so firmly back on form with the new Laguna Coupe, which I've been driving recently in Portugal. Spent most time in the new and excellent 235bhp V6 diesel, a long-legged French touring car of the old school that reminded me of an Alpine A610'

Not much but just a reminder that whilst the A610 is pretty much gone in the eyes of the better journo's, it certainly isn't forgotten!

I think the A610/GTA will live on in memory for many years. There are a few good examples still around and these do hold their own in comparison to many newer vehicles.

I still find the A610 as one of the best long distance cars in comparison with many modern cars.

Definitely! I recently took a modern Porsche 911 (977) Carrera 4 owning friend out in my GTA and they were really surprised. They admitted to expecting it to feel quite harsh and crude but were amazed at how smooth it went and how it still felt really quite modern. And quick! :D
GTA V6 Turbo - BTW check your earths!
