The ultimate R21 it isn't I know of better performers but I was beating all but two porkers at Longleat at one point.
Torque steer is non exstant in the dry, but soon as it rains `wahaaaaaaaa` it's the lift off over steer in off camber corners that does me, like St Marys at Goodwood.
As for Alpines well ! I`ll show you what happens to them on the hills when I can get a link sorted

Why did he park it up there?

Is it an A610? Presumably it has just come off the track?? Where is it?

I dont think he's flown off the track at high speed up the bank because, A, I think he would have just dug into it because the angle of it, and there is no marks on the grass...

The ultimate 21's around in my book were Trevor Robinsons red Quadra which was running plenty over 300bhp on the bottle, and Amrits red 21 built up by a mate of mine called Brett which was well over 250bhp without gas but only 2 wheeldrive. I'm sure theres a few I haven't seen yet though. Theres more potential in a GTA though, its just that not many people have modified them - which is more down to ignorance from aftermarket tuners in this country than anything else. Lighter, 500cc bigger and V6, more aerodynamic, better suspension set-up. With equal amounts of after-market development the GTA's always going to be the superior car - I know I have 2 of each!

The best one in the Retrocars rolling road day only managed 242bhp and it had had a fair lot of modification. I fully intend to have 300bhp by this time next year.....cams and ECU to come. As Tony said the GTA is lighter, more aerodynamic and it has rear wheel drive, a bigger foot print on the tarmac, a V6 engine and is a whole lot better looking!

Peterg, I know I drive a Eurobox and I`ve won a few trophys like you but I still love Alpines and if I spent my money a bit wiser in the past I would have been a proud owner of one right now.(still saveing & dreaming)
The picture was taken (not by me) at Gurston down a few years ago, going up a section call Burkes rise which is taken with foot hard to the floor in 2nd or 3rd gear. That is roughly where it ened up but a few metres more and he would have hit a large tree stump on the ridge ouch!!

Porsche 911 is very nice first thing! Never made it to Gurston Down yet (did half a season in the British championship 10 years ago.....until the money ran out ) but unless things have changed its the only hillclimb course that starts downhill.....which must be bizarre!
