Turbo warning light.

Postby ben » Sat Feb 12, 2005 10:27 am

Ok, so im driving down the A1 last night and after about 20 minutes travelling the turbo warning light comes on, the red light next to the orange swiggly warning light - which is always on! . Im assuming that its got something to do with heat, but i have checked the fans and they are working fine. Don't really know what else to do. Any ideas people?

Hi ben

That turbo light, on a normal car if youve been booting it hard (or you run no heatsheilds) actually gets brighter the hotter the engine bay gets, so if it has come on on full brightness straight away, then it probably is a faulty sensor, or disconnected, or your cars on fire... :P

BTW, the squiggly orange light next to it, shows any ecu sensor faults, so you have still got a problem somewhere...

could well be a bad/loose connection on the relay for the engine cooling fans which is located behind the radio in the centre console. I had some problems with this light coming on until a cable tie was put around relay and connection to prevent movement
