Wanted : GTA rear glass gas rams

Postby simontaylor » Thu Feb 10, 2005 12:40 pm

Them there corporate men at Renault Mill Lane in Aldershot don't seem to be able to help me, hopefully one of you good Alpinist's can???

I have an 86 GTA and need 2 gas rams for the rear glass engine cover.
Mill Lane quoted me £12.66 each last October and when I went in last week, they said "yes mate, special order, can you pay in advance and that will be £70, each". They suspected that Renault were using a different supplier now, was the best they could come up with.

Can these rams be sourced elsewhere at a reasonable cost? or is any one able to suggest an alternative Renault part/ car model that use the same.

Rnault part nos: 6001017009 / 010 (LH/RH)

Many thanks in advance, Simon.

Should have bought them at Zolder....

I have the name/address of a company in bedford who say they can make them to spec for under £25 each. But I don't have details here at work.

Thanks Andy, I'm not in a big rush, which is why I stupidly did not buy them last year.

At Zolder they were dearer than Renault UK at the time (pre-price rise) so unfortunately not too many people bought them.

They are still the identical rams from the same supplier, they have just stacked the price up.

I bought two new ones a while ago that I have never fitted. If you want to make an offer for my perfectly good S/H ones that might encourage me to get round to changing them.

I bought a couple from Renault Liverpool last year. £12.66 each. Did have to wait a few weeks for them though because they were placed on back order.

This is them:

But I notice they've updated their site and no longer mention prices!!!
