well aslong as you take in the evo triangle and the road from penmachno to ffesstiniog as even tho on the map it looks like a crappy road its anything BUT!!!! LOL

i'll have to make sure the wife will let me borrow her megane - but if not i'll tag really far bag in the evo! you won't even know i'm there although you might hear me!!!! LOL and it makes a really good tow car as it had to tow some of these renault things last time we had a run around this area! LOL

Bless you!

I'm just looking for a nice sedate 'sunday drive' myself with stops for tea and scones (or maybe an ice-cream if the weather's nice) :D

Have we decided on a possible date yet?

Sat 16th August, waiting for MR DELL to send a pm to generate more interest.

Tea and scones, yeah do you have a problem with that??

We could stop and have a game of bowling as well if you wanted to?

Hi Martin
I have been looking for a trip to the mainland just like this to come over and meet some of you guys, but having checked with the wife, we have her cousin and his wife coming to stay till the 16th :x My wife comes from your neck of the woods, so it would have been great to come over, Never mind I`ll keep looking. Have a good trip, I will be thinking of you all, and muttering under my breath

Hi Martin,
Back from Le Mans in one piece and have persuaded the missus a nice quiet drive through the hills would be a good way to spend an August weekend. Most probably have to meet up with you closer to Portmeirion on the Saturday as I'm not going anywhere near North Wales as I value my licence too much
Look forward to an itinerary and some ideas on B&B's!

Hi Martin

Postby si21 » Wed Jul 16, 2008 2:09 pm

I did receive the e-mail and would normally be up for this sort of thing without a doubt, however, not sure that I can make it at the moment as I have so much on, I would love to get the atmo on the road but I need to take the 21 off the road for a while as it need some tender loving care, she's looking a little fraid around the edges.

How much notice do you need before booking a room and how much would the room be?

Thanks

si21

No problem Si.

I will leave accomodation upto individuals to book etc. This is the start to our family holiday so I will not be available on the Sunday as we have other commitments. I just thought it would be nice for the guys coming further away to make a weekend of it and stay over, I'm sure a couple of you may want to stick together again on the Sunday and go for a drive again, track day maybe on Anglesey?

Looking forward to the saturday though and Andrew (turbodog) has taken all the suggestions on board and I think has come up with a really good route for us

Is this twisty enough ...............

Image

I can now confirm that I have gained permission for us to do the hill climb up to Stwlan Dam. This hill climb is on a private road, Top Gears "Stig and co" drove a Porche 911 GT3 and a Lambo up this hill a fortnight ago, as for when it goes out on the show, I'm not sure.

If the Stig can drive up it should easy for an Alpine owner ... :P

The climb is approx 2 miles.

Andrew.

:(

I've just received an E-mail from the facilities manager of Ffestiniog Hydro-electric, who sends his apologies as we can not longer have this particular run as there is maintanence work at the dam until mid September, but we can have it after then if we still want it.

He has offered another run up to Marchlyn Dam, again on a private road. I will check this out over the next few days.

Sorry folks, but maybe we can do Ffestiniog later in the year.
