I don't know, The car really struggles when started from cold, so i bought one of the gimmicks from ebay that is surposed to give it more BPH by telling the ecu that the car is always cold. I thought that my help on cold starting, could be wrong....?

I knew you were going to say that!

If you look on the listing on Ebay, it says you cant use them on turbo cars. Basically its a resistor that brings down the impedance of the air intake sensor, and just makes the engine run richer, but all it does is makes the car think it is running colder, and can retard the ignition anyway and reduce power.

The air and water temp sensor work on very low and sensitive ohmages (this is why the GTA sensors are prone to faults), so that resistor throws the values way out anyway.

Its more likely to be a problem with the coolant temp sensor rather than the air temp, as this causes more of a starting problem than the air temp..

Use my diagnostic unit, that will tell you the problem, Its better to fix the problem properly, than trying to compensate for it.

The new sensor worked a treat, thanks for the advice. It did cost just under 50 quid - but worth every penny, she starts a treat from cold. :D
