Trackday Insurance

Postby jon_viola » Tue May 13, 2008 3:00 pm

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this. It it worth having? Is there anyone in particular that is cheaper/better?

My current insurer Footman James wants £65 for one event with a £3000 or 30% excess!!!!!!

it makes track days very expensive and its rare you ever see any incidents. Herts insurance do offer it as part of there normal cover though and it can work out quite cheap on older cars. https://www.hertsinsurance.com/

That seems a bit steep for one event! What would happen though if you were not covered for track days and sideswipe a Ferrari 360 or Lambo whilst doing a very good Ragnotti impression?

in real terms absolutely nothing.... except for the ferrari driver possibly dropping to his knees in tears when you tell you aren't insured.... unless he is himself, as the rules say you're not insured on a track and the trackday companies don't force anyone to insure their cars anyway.... drive at your own risk so if your car isn't worth alot and you don't rely on it as a daily driver don't bother
