Postby BIG_MVS » Thu Mar 13, 2008 7:32 pm

The rear casing is different on the 25 in that it has an additional small outlet as well as the big one to the Y pipe.Usually you only get the main body as a new unit and bolt the old thermo housing and rear casing on .It's probably just a leaking gasket on one or the other .
I have one from a 25 in the garage ,it looks OK .You can swap the casings or plug the smaller bore .
Have a look if you're passing .
It looks far better than this anyway and probably cheaper

If it's leaking from behind, then it's likely to be the back plate, as Lee says. When the actual pump shaft seal fails, they leak from a small hole behind the pulley.

So can you get a refurb kit then?

I have found this which looks reasonable, £75 inc VAT and Delivery:

A bit of a worry though is that it's the same part listed as the 25 Turbo.

Clee - what would I need to do to get it to fit to the GTA?

Anyone been to Renault recently for one, is it a trouser down job?

It'll be the main body and gaskets ,they're the same .You use the thermo housing and rear casing from the old unit .

The DeLorean ones used to be about £80 from ren with back plate. There are places who rebuild but I'vé never used one.

I've got one going spare - absolutely brand new and perfect. (Sitting on the kitchen floor for ages in the space we keep the hoover)

PM me. £50 I guess if you want it.
I'm just here for the gasoline.
