Prescott - La Vie en Bleu

Postby simontaylor » Fri Feb 29, 2008 2:48 pm

2008 sees the world famous Bugatti Owners Club hosting their 2nd French "la vie en blue - reprise" and this year they have been promised sunshine.

Sunday 25th May is the big French day where many French car clubs, classic, historic, collectors and racers will be taking to the hill. Demontration runs will be made in the 1000 HP Veyron and a few other specialities including Ayton Senna's Renault engined 1986 F1 car.

Entrance will be £12 in advance, £15 on the gate for each day. Last year, competitors who raced their cars up the hill were excused of the entrance fees which make the £98 fee very reasonable and great value for money for a weekend.

WIN a ride of a lifetime in a Bugatti Veyron for a run up the hill. All advance ticket sales will be entered into a draw to be made on Sunday the 25th May. ONE WINNER ONLY.

Saturday 24th May will see rounds of the Allard, Austin Healey, Bently, Bugatti, Ferrari, Austin 7, Lotus and Ginetta car clubs championships.

Sunday 25th May, the French Day, will see all French car clubs and French engined cars taking to the hill.

Prescott is a fantastic spectator venue, the catering, seating, viewing and general facilities are excellent. This is a great family day out and there will be a few car club stands to look at too. Access to the paddock is very open and the general public can really get amongst the cars.

Put the date in your diary, there will be camping too, as well as the usual hotels in nearby Cheltenham.

For competitors, the regs have been published, entry forms are here:
http://www.bugatti.co.uk/uploads/generic%20entry%20form.08.pdf
Class structure is still under debate and depends upon the variety and level of entries received. Just call me if you have any questions, BUT it is most likely to fill up quite quickly, so my entry went off today!

Simon there's a direct PDF link on the BOC site here

http://www.bugatti.co.uk/uploads/generi ... orm.08.pdf

Also it seems La Vie en Bleu is only on the sunday the saturday has another theme.. so we can only enter one day so won't we have to pay the one day entry fee?

Don't forget that La Vie en Bleu is an official Renault Heritage event this year.

Anyone who registers for the Renault Heritage parking area (to include Renault Alpine Owners' Club, Renault Classic Car Club, Venturi Owners' Club etc) will receive points towards the 2008 H&C Trophy.

See this thread for more details: http://www.renaultalpineownersclub.com/ ... php?t=2856

Thanks Andy, I have edited my post to reflect these corrections.

Last year, the French cars were displayed on the Saturday too. Our Hill entry fee included a weekend entrance pass, so I am guessing/hoping that the arrangements will be the same/similair again this year? I'm sure Stephen will update us closer to the time.

Hotels are filling up fast, don't wait!!

Some of us have already booked into the PURPLE HOTEL Tewkesbury, very close to Gotherington.

Very smart & reasonably priced. Plenty of Parking.

From the drop down menu on the booking engine select 'Promotional Rate' which includes Breakfast (see the small print that appears just to the right). Don't click on add breakfast and pay for it!!

Prescott entries......

Mr D ..... are you wanting members to send their entries in to the club as we will have our own category and regs or direct to the B.O.C. and which category do you enter your car in on the form?

also do we pay for the 2 day ticket or one day ticket and how many people are admitted with each entry as i will require some extra entry tickets also i think

Please send all entries directly to the Bugatti Owners Club before 8th May. Please let me know that you have entered and I will add your name to the list for our class.

Most of you will enter general class 9 or post '75 sports cars. This will be subdivided into specific classes later depending on number of entries.

Your competition entry fee will include 2 free tickets for Sunday. You will need to purchase tickets to gain entrance on Saturday when you are not competing. You can add a note on your competition entry form that you would like Saturday tickets or you can send in a seperate ticket request.

ALL COMPETITION ENTRANTS WILL RECEIVE A FREE F1 SCALE NOSECONE COURTESY OF RENAULT HERITAGE.

If you are not competing you will need to purchase admission tickets only.

If you need any of the forms or have any problem downloading them please let me know as I have plenty here!!

Any queries just ask.

Just in case you did not know there will be 4 BUG V's there this year, one from the factory, driven by Pierre the F1 driver, one from BUG UK and two private cars, that makes about 4,200bhp (3x1000+ 1200 for the factory car). Will there be any tarmac for us after they have torn it from the hill side :D

Rupert, you are in, you are car no 91, next to mine, poor you! If you don't get your entry by Monday I should give the club a call and ask them to resend.

Cheers
Mark

What's the crack with this meet with regard to non competitors wanting to park?

If (and it's a big if) I'm allowed out for good behaviour I would like to come to this. Can I pay on the gate but still park with the club, or do I need to register or apply for tickets (I may have missed the boat)?
