(he's decided not to sell, but I guess if someone comes and makes an offer...)

I have two lovely turbos sitting on my windowsill that say he's going ahead with the 610 lump :) It won't be for a while while he saves up tho.

Yes it was, and looking at the advert the weight of the accessories could explain some of the performance reduction. And yes I am being serious.

I hope Chris keeps the car and does the 610 conversion. He's always seemed a nice to guy at events and to talk to.

So do I. He wants to do it "properly", and for him, that means "as good as it can be". I've warned him about the DeLorean's ability to take that kind of power without being dangerous, so we're doing big brakes, and a full suspension upgrade too. It all comes down to the money, and he's furiously saving up now.

Am I missing something here?
Less power, built in the renowned car capital of the world - Northern Ireland, looks like an aluminium ingot on wheels, gets used as the feature car in an '80's film and then becomes 3-4 times more valuable than many very good condition Alpine GTA's.
I know it's horses for courses/ public demand but what a shame Renault didn't manage to get the Alpine GTA as a feature car in any 80's movies!

Quentin Willson's beef was always that they're worth too much. But the demand's there, the cars don't rot, and they are unique in many ways.

It -IS- just a rear engined Esprit with gullwing doors and a stainless body. But it was better made (particularly the chassis) and came with the bomb-proof PRV we all know and love (!)

I'm not going to argue that the GTA shouldn't be worth more or that the D is probably worth too much... but as you say, horses for courses. Each to their own etc :D
