Engine fan sensors

I''ve got a problem with my engine cooling fans not operating. They used to come on for a couple of minutes after switching off the ignition, but they no longer do.

At David Gentleman's suggestion, I disconnected the two spade connectors from one of the temp. sensors, near the turbo and joined them with with a piece of wire. The fans instantly came on! So, I'm guessing, this means the sensor/s are faulty.

Anyone have any ideas where I can obtain new ones? Will they be a dealer only part or will motor factors possibly sell them?

Do you know this because you've had problems with your fans in the past and had to replace your sensors?

I'm just wondering if I'm guessing right, it is the sensors faulty.

Yes, but a long time ago... one had failed so I did them both.

Looks like I'll have to do the same.
