A610 lower wishbone bracket mounting bolts

After my 4 wheel alignment I needed to change one shim in the rear to reduce toe in- easy??, the bolts had been soaked in oil for a week, I had the parts and the tools, no problem....a couple of hours will do it.
WELL I should have known better- The rear bolt head snapped off- ,the one that goes through the wishbone mount and subframe. As the nut was already off I'd expected it to just come out, so that was a bit of a surprise. Now I cannot shift it either way through the subframe no matter how large a drift I use (5lb hammer). Heat and oil have failed, as has a grinder.
Before I start drilling it out, does anyone know if the rear bolt is threaded through the subframe?
The front one isn't, the parts book and workshop manual are unclear- is there an expert here who knows?

It isn't threaded on the GTA .No reason why it should be any different on a 610 .....................There's no need to thread the subframe if there's a nut on the other side ..................

Lee, I do have the entire subframe from Clarkson's wreck. The frame is pissed and the two right wishbones are a gonner, but everything is present and correct and awaiting my time to take off the good stuff to go on ebay.... but you can have the lot if it'd be useful. (talk money with Chris )

Martin- hopefully I won't need a new subframe, but good to know there is one around.

BTW- should the anti roll bar bushes move on the bar? Mine seems stuck in one position, I assume this is normal?

off for another day on my back now....oh for a 2 post lift.

the anti roll bar bush should be clamped in the bracket.

the bar should only rotate, with slight resistance, within the bush.

there should be no lifting of the ARB within the bush.

I get NO movement of the bush on the bar- I guess that means its seized to it..another job for the "when the subframe comes out," list (eg not yet)- these are now Simon Auto's only bushes aren't they?

Not easily! If they're not cracked or torn, they're probably okay, and given they're no longer available from Renault, Simon Autos stocks will be limited.

Bizarrely, a complete roll bar with bushes for a 610 is available for around a one-er from Renault. And given the fun of fitting them, possibly something to think about... although this is a bit tough to change over in situe!

PS Clarkson's frame is bent. No good to anyone except to hold all the good bits together on one piece!
