The TT DeLorean has been going longer and with more boost (and higher temps) than Lee on the same gaskets.

Tis a 'universal' fitment, as far as PRV's go.

End of the day turbo has higher cylinder pressures, cylinder temps, water temps and oil temps - which all go past some part of the gasket at some point.

I bow to you're greater knowledge of gasket production and design for the mass market ..............I shall send it backand ask for a refund ...........Dave say NO

Lol, well when you bought the gaskets, you admitted you would 'take a gamble on them' as they were cheap.

Now you have had a head gasket failure..

This is by no means any indication that the gasket is at fault, but second time around, why take the gamble again

Don't try that with me Davey Boy I'm like an elephant in more ways than one  .................I said I would take a gamble on them being suitable for the Z7U NOT cause they were 'Cheap' .
When the set arrived it had the Z7U engine code quoted on the packet and a full tech spec

Its irrelevant. We know standard Turbo gaskets can survive over 100k of abuse, in poor engine setup conditions with extended boost/temps. So why take the chance on an unknown, pattern part, especially when you are trying to go 'beyond' standard specification.

Its not like were talking about expensive parts here...

Mebbe, but that would only be det related, and you said you heard none, and that would most likely cause damage the firing ring to do what you have done. Have you had the gaskets out yet to have a look at the damage?

All these unknowns eh  If you had genuine or uprated gaskets, at least you could count that out... 8)

haven't tried for a while but last I heard Z7U gaskets were unavailable on one side.

Just remembered, Lee I have a brand new set of branded Volvo gaskets right here if you're in a hurry... (they're unavailable now too)
