Northern Area Meet PT3

Anyone up for a meet in January again? This year we had 4 cars which doubled the year before , can we try for 8 cars this year (or next year I suppose) please guys?

Do we want to go back to the Kilton Arms pub near Knutsford again for an informal meet and sunday lunch or go somewhere more "car" orientated ie Oulton Park maybe?

Knutsford looks a posh place. I might be able to make a Sunday in January. Its 2 to 3 hours from Hull, can you send me details as and when you have them. Don't mind Oulton either! That is if you don't mind a stranger tagging along.

cant make a weekday, I teach so no flexibility with holidays. Also am rank amateur so even if could make friday what are regulations etc how prepared must car be? and or me for that matter.

So long as the car is roadworthy that'll be it ,you will be noise tested ,no prob for a roadcar .You will need a helmet ,they can be hired but will have had a few sweaty heads in them You can get a new helmet cheaply enough £40/50 on Ebay .
First timers get a bit more of a briefing but it's all pretty straightforward stuff ,track etiquette mostly and flags .
Open pitlane so you can do as many or few laps as you wish throughout the whole day within reason and traffic .Normally you can get a bit of instruction ,15/20 mins for about £30 .
Well worth a go if you can swing an inset day

Not sure about a track day Clee. Can we make the Jan meeting just a meet up and informal chat with a bite to eat. Maybe we could then discuss a track day or similar for later in the year maybe if enough are interested?

Yes, i wouldn't mind doing a track event at Oulton Park, perhaps at some point later in the year, as it's my local circuit and I've never driven it.

But as Martin says, I thought this was just an informal weekend meet for a chat and bite to eat.

Definitely something to consider for another time though!
