Anyone fitted a Le Mans bodykit to a GTA?

I see a repro of the original is available from ART. Massive job all round, or is it just the rear wings that present any major headaches?

What size wheels did the Le Mans come with? Presumably 16'', but what width and offset? I'm guessing that the only choice for anyone who has fitted the kit is the original style wheel which I find to be very attractive but didn't actually find them on the website.

In choosing to fit the kit, should we do it really, since GTA's are scarce enough already and maybe best only modified in ways that allow them to be returned to factory standard? IMO the Le Mans looks excellent - the solitary styling issue being a little boxiness of the front wings at the side of the headlights. I find these cars look much better on the road than in photographs, though.

It's very tempting (and pricy too) but the increased drag and rolling resistance and uncompromising look seems IMO, to create a need for further spending - along the lines of 3 litre, 24 valve, twin turbo power. :shock: :roll:

Well, for starters, bear in mind that a decent spray job afterwards will be £2000 ish. So only consider it if your paintwork is already ropey.
Fitting it all is pretty straightforward, some just bolts on, but still quite a lot of work, new mouts for the lower edge of front panel, undertray, fitting sills, and as for the rear wings, just tricky to fix on to the polyester stuff of the orignal panel. You don't need to remove much of the old rear wing, just the arch. The inner wings need infill panels to close the gap between the old and new. Aligning everything.
You can sell some of the old panels of course. Bumpers, front panel and front wings. Say for about £700 ish which reduces the cost of the work a little.
In conclusion be sure you love the Le Mans shape before you start. And if you do it may be cheaper just to buy a Le Mans! For me, I just didn't want to feel that I couldn't modify a car as it was so rare, that is why I started from scratch with another car - and mine should be pretty unique when it is done. If it is ever done!!
