Injector pulse 2 - ECU?

After checking what i thought was a loss of feed to the injectors it turns out it is ok - the feed is taken from the fuel pump relay so will only be there once you crank the engine!
I have fitted an LED in one of the injector plugs but there is still no pulse - poss ecu prob?
It does seem strange that this may have gone faulty as i don't see a reason for it getting damaged!!
I'm not sure how the GTA system works. When cranking i no i have a good spark so that tells me the pick up is ok but does it actually work like that on this setup?
Maybe the crank pick up only tells the ecu to open the injectors and spark is there regardless?

Anyone got a spare ecu i could try if need be please?
I want to get this sorted asap as the car is sold!

I've two 25T units ,they should prove the point .As far as I know there's little difference .I'm sure the buyer can sort it out though .

I could be wrong on this but here goes...

After reassembling Darren's engine I too had an infuriating problem like this that had me going "well it worked fine before". There is moderately sized ground connection on the rear/right behind the catch tank (if you have one) that I'd left dangling "just to check everything worked". The engine fired up perfectly and I went home a happy bunny.

The following day, not a sausage. Wouldn't start, but the rev counter twitched when cranking (and this is fed directly from the coil so you know therefore the ECU is getting its trigger and outputting a spark). Fiddled about a bit and suddenly it burst to life. Great, time for a test run, tried to drive it out, the shop, stall.

Long story short, that ground wire is VITAL and was resting on the engine but as soon as the car moved, it fell away and bing goes the ground for the injector feed. I reckon seeing as you were doing head work, that ground wire is hanging loose somewhere.

Where should that earth lead bolt to exactly?
On this one it bolts to the bracket on the OS rocker cover,which i did take off when doing the heads!
I have found out today there is a guy just down the road who tests ECU's so i will get this one checked out tomorrow just to make sure.

I would like to hear this engine purring before it makes its trip to Belfast!
