Injector pulse

Postby spryboy1974 » Sat Sep 15, 2007 5:35 pm

I have today finished doing the stem seals on the car,but when i started it it ran for a few seconds and cut out, hasn't started since. :x
I have checked spark - ok
I have fuel in the rails but the injectors don't seem to be opening as with all the cranking the plugs are bone dry!
Any ideas?
I suppose a wire may have broken when the loom was taken off!??

Just my luck as i have someone coming around tomorrow w3ho may be a potential buyer!!!

No earth to rocker cover is good.
I will rig up a bulb tomorrow to test the pulse.
Have i messed up the cam timing???
I don't think so as when i took the heads off i cable tied the chains to the cam sprockets and the crank never moved, and then it wouldn't have fired up then cut out!? :?

You can check injector pulses by using one of those 501 LED replacement bulbs. Perfect for the job in a way a regular bulb isn't fast enough.

Might be worth simply checking you have 12v on either of the pins eith the ignition on - that'll rule out the relay.

Have had a very quick look today and there is no feed going to the injectors,so hopefully it won't be too hard to sort out! :?
