Fuel Computer

Postby jon_viola » Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:59 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know the procedure to "reboot" the fuel computer? DG and i managed it when i picked up my car but i have no idea how and it's gone on the blink again......

Also my fuel smell is terrible! Maybe i'd forgotten in the time my car was away but i've had the tank checked, the fuel breather's fine and there's no leaks, any ideas? Is it possible to turn off the fan next to the tank or is this a bad idea?

Other than that the car is FANTASTIC so much more responsive with all the mods, and that sound.......

Cheers

Jon

Disconnect the battery, then press and hold the reset button for ten seconds. Re-connect the battery.

The fuel smell is common. Think most people suffer it. The strong fuel smell was commented on in a road test of my car even when it was new.

My car used to have a fuel smell, However after changing the injector rubber pipes, All is fine and dandy.
Suggest you do some more prodding sniffing.
I agree with the above however disconnect the battery to reset.
If your fault is still apparent, you may have a broken wire in the sender unit. (attached to the float)
