I overhead a couple chaps in Watford last night talking about "Deloreans going back into production, limited run of 500".

Like all good retro cars, it could be a few more years before you see it.
The Datsun (Nissan) 350Z was talked about for ages before it was confirmed.

DMC Houston (who own the trademark now, and almost all the original stock of parts) have been knocking out ground-up restoration cars for a few years now. A couple have found there way over here actually. Basically only the chassis (powdercoated), fibreglass underbody and vin number survive. Everything else is NOS or remanufactured

But to restore a car, you must find a worth car to restore.... not much point stripping and rebuilding what was a perfectly good secondhand car in the first place.

I think the demand for restored cars has exceeded the supply of restoration project cars.

They have, I believe, found a loophole that allows him to put previously unregistered cars on the road without having to pass federal requirements like a new car would. I've heard it has something to do with constructring the cars minus engines and gearboxes, and getting another company to fit them.
