I just wanted it back on the road .........It's been 8 months :cry: :cry: It makes life a lot easier when you can drive it to be repaired .
I will get it sorted properly when I can find someone to do it .If it was dangerous I wouldn't attempt to disguise it ...................

I had hoped to give it some stick at the RTOC National day but that now looks unlikely . The wishbones are off and need replacing ,the calipers need rebuilding to sort the handbrake efficiency ,replace the fuelpump and filter etc,etc :cry: :cry:

I posted some stuf on the handbrake when my car failed it's MOT on the handbrake in March this year.

It's easy.... remove pads and caliper, wind piston in, replace pads and caliper back onto the disk/car and pump FOOT brake (NOT hand brake).

It was that easy.

The workshop manual show you how to line up the piston in the correct way before replacing it back onto the car.

Well they are BX brakes.

1: Stand on foot brake
2: Pull handbrake HARD
3: Release foot brake
4: Release hand brake
5: Repeat a few times

Most BX's self adjust, as they were designed, but my first one needed this doing every now and again.

I'll give that a go when it's all back together :lol: The calipers are off and look a bit tired but may be OK .I do need to reset one of the handbrake levers as I managed to twist it to far and the keyway cammy type thing popped out :oops: I've done this before :roll: The main ball ache is compressing the belville washers to put it back in .
You can get a rebuild kit £21 and new piston £16 from http://www.brakeparts.co.uk/.
Funky new web site but the bits may still be wrong :lol:

Just check the seals etc in any rebuild kit are for normal Dot4/5 not weirdo Citroen fluid.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

Erm LEE!

You now need to purchase 8 new bushes... :oops:

I was wondering why you said they came out easy. Youve seperated them from their steel casing! :?

They pushed out really easy , I assumed that it was how they were assembled .They are not bonded to the outer sleeve ...................Just a bit of a lip :lol:

Thats cos theyre fooked. They should be.. Hence why I said to you the other day, well done for getting all 8 out in one piece :lol: , I usually have to wreck them and replace with new (with lubed sleeves)

Wait till you see the price :shock:

I've just replaced all of the bushes in both the upper and lower wishbones, plus the two anti-roll bar bushes and the two rubber end pieces. Total cost ~£280 from Renault. Then again worth it if you're rebuilding the entire suspension and fitting cool new ART dampers!

I'm having to replace the wishbones as well ..............You don't want to know the Renault price for them :shock: I'm thinking now to strip the upper ones as well and refurb the whole lot .It had new bearings just before the engine went tits up last year
This is probably going to turn into a more expensive job than the engine rebuild :roll: In total with the DG secondhand crank that only came to about £700 ........................

is it possible to get poly bushes the only reason i say this is because my dads t2 is fully polybushed and i thought some of the parts are the same as the alp ie:wishbones

I can't see the outer casing on my old wishbones :shock: :? ,there's a witness of a step but I'm buggered if I can see two seperate bits let alone get them apart ................
Are you sure about this Dave :?: I needs to see dem-dirty-ands :wink:
