Lol, I know that car very well. Spent many an hour on it. It's up for a lot because it's a right-hander but the owner is in cloud cuckoo land at that price. But then again, some poor bar steward might fall for it!

It's not one of the original right hand prototypes and some of the conversion work is pretty shoddy, especially the steering rack which is appalling and "notchy"

LOL 195hp my asp.

Makes an interesting price comparison with the GTA Le Mans.

26 RHD examples V 25 RHD examples.

The Le Mans has largely been advertised in the £10-20K bracket condition dependent with the majority of cars achieving £12-£15K

(devil's advocate hat on) But a LeMans GTA is "just" a special edition GTA. The DeLorean is so utterly unique and the right-handers are the rarest variants if you don't count the three gold cars, and obviously of high value here and in australia, honkers and singapore.

Steve, you remember Lambo-Nigel? He has one of the best right-hook DeLoreans which was converted for the 82 London Motor Show - ie done properly and not a "prototype". He bought it straight out the museum, at auction for £21.5k two years ago, then sunk 4k in it with me to resurrect it. Apart from minor things, it's been going fine ever since. It's generally considereed that one of the original right hooks (of which there are 16 official 3rd party prototypes and 3 factory) is worth 25k on the road.

I reckon Steve (PSO's owner) is just testing the water. He paid 16k for it.

I was just comparing the values really as they were manufactured in similar numbers:

Even in the UK a RHD Le Mans is still worth less than a LHD car despite the small production numbers but it seems the RHD Delorean is worth more than the LHD version. Is that true for all markets?

Most of the French cars including the Venturi are worth less as RHD with the exception of the Australian market due to the exclusion of LHD cars.

The Delorean is famous .It's unique in that it stars in a hit film ,not Eldorado or Howards Way   But it's not a sportscar like the GTA ,more a sports jacket :D

No argument from me mate :D Actually, that's very well put, I'll remember that!

What you say is spot on though. For whatever reason (not just the films) the DeLorean is so well known.and so utterly rare, in proportion. This keeps the values high and the right hooks command a premium.

FWIW I was blown away when I drove AlpineRob's - The GTA is a better car on the road, even if the pedals are too small! But it's a Renault, it rusts more easily where it matters and the interior looks crappy by comparison. All strictly IMO of course.

Venturi? What's that then? To you and me, it's a wet dream (well, to me anyway!) but to Joe Bloggs......?

(starting to really regret not picking up that crashed right hook 400GT :( )

I guess what I'm saying is "each to their own" and I respect you guys and your cars immensely. And I doubt you'll find an argument from me on anything obvious DeLorean vs GTA :D (apart from the price of taillights  )

And there's the irony really coz if Renault had spent an extra sixpence on rustproofing (and maybe a little more on the interior) the GTA would be vastly better.

Just looking at the underside of mine, and spending so much time repainting the repaired sections and cleaning everything up, it strikes me that certain parts could simply have been protected with extra paint and a squeeze of expanding polysytrene. (And no I'm not joking about the expanding foam)

in France, they have a 35 hour working week and 2 hours for lunch every day..... they wouldn't have time, plus the lunchtime wine wouldn't help the afternoon shift
