Alternator removal

Well at last, I've got a new alternaotor and belt, but in the full ness of time (and a bit of poor planning) I've now got an electrical dilema. Which wire goes where?

The loom has a 2 pin plug (thats the easy bit because it is keyed) a big insulated lead and a pair of little wires (together on the same lug connector).
The Alternator has the socket for the plug, and 2 teminals, marked as M & +.
I just can't remember which way round they go and the wiring diagram is not much help, page32, sheet 20.
I also have a condensor, again I can't remember where it goes.

If any one could have a look under their car, I'd be greatfull as I'm not wanting to blow this brand new alternator up. When the alternator is mounted on the car, the + connector is on the side closest to the engine block.

I sorted the main wiring, the M & + terminals are different sizes and the 2 little wires will only fit on the M , so the big lead has to go onto the + terminal.

Engine fires up ok and I guess as I have no charging light on, it must be ok.

I should have tried the radio just to see, but can anyone help me with the condensor and it's connection?

The condenser will have its' body attached to earth, most likely the alternator body or bracket, and have its' lead connected to the main output terminal with the largest wire attached. Connections at both points need to be clean.

just look at the costs of the repair parts....

Wood Autos is a trade suppler os auto electric parts and they were able to suggest some local traders who they suppled parts to.

wow - I can do the same unit in a Renault box for £160 and make a profit :)

The surcharge is £20, and although technically it's "exchange" - the replacements are indistinguishable from new.
