Leather Retrim

My drivers seat bolster is split (from getting in and out) near the seam on the 'shoulder' of the seat. It means replacing three panels. A local guy has quoted £150 to do this (or £350 to do the whole seat).

-Are there any 2nd hand good condition leather drivers seats (black) out there (pretty rare I imagine in the UK - I could try europe ?)
-Has anyone had their seat patched (or recovered) and has any recommendations ? I'd prefer to go with a recommended retrimmer and preferably one that has done GTA seats before.

My seat has exactly the same problem...
I was going to try a trimmer just around the corner from me in Farncombe.

He has done a few things for me before and is well known, just not sure whether he does leather, it can be a bit specialised.

Mine's starting to go in the same place - let me know how you get on.
Also has anyone got any suggestions for treating the leather to improve the look?

Best leather treatment is liquid leather. Try this first.

Woolies & Gliptone both do dye kits if it's looking really scruffy.

Second best leather treatment is Autoglym.

I can confirm that the Woolies leather refurbishment kit is very good, especially if the surface is cracked or faded. It also works well on the black vinyl trim, giving it a nice silky matt finish rather than a glossy shine and covering up the ingrained dirt which is always impossible to get rid of properly.

I used fine steel wool along with the cleaning agent they provide (not on the vinyl I hasten to add!) - a bit of a leap of faith at first bit it does do the job and provide a good key for the black dye to adhere to.
