I think it's a scam. The car is listed as being in London, here's the reply I got when I emailed asking to view it:

Hi there,

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier, work
commitments.

The 1997 Renault Sport Spider is still available for
the price of £8,000 GBP + shipping to your door. The
estimated cost for door to door shipping to just about
anywhere in the UK will cost about £ 500 GBP and takes
8 days to arrive at your address. For an accurate
shipping cost please include your shipping address in
your next email.

The car is meticulously maintained. No damage, no
scratches or dents, no hidden defects, runs and sounds
awesome, the engine has never been repaired or
something like that, never been into accidents and it
is as advertised .The vehicle comes with all the
documents, original ones. The car comes complete with
full service history and is stunning in every way.

The car was bought from UK, it meets the UK specs and
the UK road worthy regulations and it complies with
the UK emissions standard.

The vehicle is accurate, corrosion free, no scratches,
no damage of any kind, was properly serviced and
stored, has a clear title, all the manuals and the
original documents are in English. The buyer will
receive them along with title and all the additional
documents needed for registration upon purchase.

I have just came back to my home country Hungary
because I got a very good job offer here. I did some
research, as I brought the car with me, with the
intention of driving it but when I found out about the
very high import duties and all the restrictions
regarding registration and emissions tests here I have
made up my mind and decided to sell it. I have another
photos available, so if you are interested in buying
it let me know and I will send them to you.

I am a private seller not a dealer thus this
transaction is sales tax free, however please note
purchase price does not include shipping and insurance
taxes. This transaction is insured by the vehicle
purchase protection program, which means that after
you receive the car you will have a 5 days inspection
period to inspect it and to evaluate it's mechanical
and cosmetically condition before buying the vehicle.

I want to take the opportunity to assure you that this
deal is 100% legitimate, the financial part of this
deal will be managed by Ebay, in this way both of us
will be protected. I will make all the documents from
here on your name and address, they will be signed and
legalized and when you will get them you will only
have to put your signature on.

If you want to complete the purchase please send me
your ebay ID, your full name and address and I will
notify ebay that you are selected as my buyer. After I
get in touch with them they will contact you to
explain the entire procedure.

Please email me soon if you want to move forward and
let me know if you need anything else.

All the best!

I think it's a scam. The car is listed as being in London, here's the reply I got when I emailed asking to view it:

A few similarities with these ones, proved to be scams:

Hello,
I have received your email regarding my car 2004 RENAULT CLIO RENAULT SPORT V6 255 BLACK.First you have to know bidding is restricted since I am carefully with my auction,so no one will press the button until I have the assurance that he will buy it.
The car is in perfect condition, with no scratches on it,no damage. It have all the papers and documents and is registered in UK!
The price for the car is 4100GBP.
I want to sell it in UK because is still registered there.I sell the car at this price because i need money to help my son(he's child is very sick and he need money for he's child). Please understand my situation.
The buyer will receive the car with all papers and receipts that he needs to register it to his name.
I am in BERLIN,GERMANY right now but the car is in UK and it will be shipped from there.
Shipping will be done whit DAS and it will take no more then 2-3 days. I have a friend there who will manage me a low price shipping and I assumed that it is my duty to pay for shipping it.It will be delivered directly to your address.
Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested in buying it, please reply with the following information's:
-Your full name and address;
-Your ebay user id.
The transaction will be closed only through ebay vehicle purchase protection so we both be protected.
Also in this way you have the chance to pay after you receive and test the car!
I will look for your email,so that we can move forward with this deal!
Let me know..

Definitely a scam. Through my work one of my people dealt with a near identical case where a woman who was more than a little nieve sent her savings of £4000 to Hungary for a RHD British registered camper van. What was particularly sad is that it was wirth about £20k and Ebay spotted the scam and removed it......but she had already emailed questions to the seller so carried on using his email address to complete the sale outside E-bay by bank transfer. Needless to say neither the money nor the van have been seen again (well not since August anyway!). You would think that when the seller quoted her £250 delivery to West Cumbria she would have twigged (as well as being 1/5 of the market value!). Some people!
