Does anyone know of an Alpine specialist in the N.W.????? I am having trouble finding someone who wants to take on the clutch slave cylinder job, and I havent the time space or inclination to do it myself.

you cd fly me over with my spanners for the day (or two!!)
seriously, go to davids place, it might be a long drive but what are your options at the moment? then you get the satisfaction of cruising all summer!

Sounds silly but try the local renault dealer...
They have a high hourly rate its true, but they have to do the work according to set times in the manuals so should be able to give a fixed price for the job.
I recently took mine to a dealer and was amazed at how cheap it all came out!

They'll take it!!!! The guy who will be doing it rebuilt one in his spare time last year as well, so will know what hes doing....the day is saved for now!

The parts were about £200 of that

Eurocarparts are good for starter motors, mine only cost me £45.00 + V.A.T. exchange. Only takes 10 minutes to fit, 3 bolts and the wiring harness is all you have to undo.

As for a garage in the North West, you need to give RE Performance Centre a call. There in Bury, which is just outside of Manchester, the guy knows a lot about Alpines, he's sorted mine out a few times and he's also done the Head Gasket on my friends GTA Turbo.

I think he's currently fixing a Le Mans model, replacing the glass in the nose cone.

Dropped the car off at the Renault garage. They were very keen....apparently they are under pressure to bring in paid work as most of their stuff is free warranty repairs. The dippy but very fit receptionist even came out to look at the car as she had never seen one before!!!! Hello ladies Just waiting to here back as to the cost......fingers crossed that they dont change their minds and tell me they dont fancy doing it like the other 2 garages!
