Mines weighs 700 kilos and has got 200 bhp though hasn't it ? It hits 100 mph in a quarter of a mile from a standstill on only 15 psi of boost . When peterg's gta can do that , he can then start bragging :wink:

Yes, but you said 'GTAs are normally slow', so you mean standard ones (which do 0-60 in 5.8 ) but the Gordini does 0-60 in 9.8 so this it what you could call pityfully slow, even the 5GT is nearly 3 seconds quicker as standard..

Your car has nearly a 90% increase in power from standard. :lol:

Well its all to play for....if you use the calculator David put on the thread my car is quicker than a 200bhp 700kg Gordini before I added cams and a bigger turbo...and on hillclimbs Ive beaten the best 'up to 2 litre' cars in the country on straighter tracks....but I've never seen a Gordini at an event.
Gary is way too cocky!

I have not said at any stage that Gary's 'dini is faster than Peters GTA, I can't say that because I haven't been in it but I have just tried to confirm that Gary's car does take some beating in a straight line and confirm that I have witnessed that performace first hand, both on the road and on the dyno. Possibly it does feel faster in it because it is small and noisy compared to a GTA but I've seen it take some big scalps at the pod despite having no traction off the line whatsover, the dini's low gearing helps alot - 5th is lower than 4th on a GTA. Considering I'm probably the ownly person in the uk to have driven a GTA as quick as Pete's and I have driven Gary's dini albeit a couple of years ago and I wouldn't like to bet alot of money either way. Yes the GTA should launch better and will obviously be faster top end but 20-100 I think will be too close to call.

Yep , not bad for a standard engine with only gt turbo pistons swopped into it 8) The new engine will be quicker than the knacked old one too , the car will be even lighter as well so it will go like fooooook . I'm putting a gt28 turbo on it after it's run in so expect the power level to go up even more :shock:

You mean it will wheelspin all over the place and fail to get its miserable 4 cylinder torque free power down on the track!!! :lol: :lol: :wink:
I assume you'lll be running road tyres to keep the playing field level?

There's no point having a 160 mph top speed if it takes 10 miles and half an hour to reach it is there


You need just over a mile from a standing start and a bit of room to slow down before you get to the end of the runway :wink:

Bruntingthorpe main straight is ideal...

I feel a club proving day coming on 8)

I was just talking about Joe's 610 topping out at 167 on the limiter at Brunters.... 8) Its in the magazine..
