I never said that my 5 was the fasest 5 in the UK did i ? I said that it had 200 bhp and hits 100 mph up the quarter mile and that peterg's gta won't catch it  . Mines not modified much but it's fast , i'm doing a big bhp 5 dini turbo engine next for another car and it will top 300 bhp , that you can be sure of . I'll post up some big bhp dyno sheets later on , then you can all sell your gta's and spend some money on renault 5's instead as it's much wiser !!!!!!

Which isnt fast as its nigh on the same as a standard A610...so im sure Pete's GTA with a bit more power, another 120lb/ft of torque and 400kilos lighter must make it slower!!...

This is a very good tool. Frighteningly accurate...compare the results to standard car specs, or even modified - physics is physics...

http://www.letstorquebhp.com/calculator.asp

All the 5 fraternity have moved on the F-block 1.7 turbos and F7R turbo conversions.

Ill give you a race in our 300bhp 16v turbo R5, low boost...

Gary...this is starting to get tiresome now....you have nothing to back up your claims for a car that doesnt yet work so there isnt much point in going on. I have arm fulls of trophies that you dismiss as a waste of time so we're never going to agree. I said before that I accept Tony's car has about 300bhp but he has had 2 rolling road sessions and has come back with sheets to show that he has about 300bhp....why would I think it had more? (oh no wait....now I understand....in Gary's world everyone should just accept unsubstantiated claims  ). Dismissingall motorsport except 1/4 mile runs as a waste of time is similarly ridiculous.....especially as at the start of this thread your claims werent purely about stragith line speed, they also covered handling. If youve finished being a nuisance, why dont you toddle off to another forum and hit them with your claims of Gordini world domination!!!

I don't think you'll find most people are unbelievers just you and 1 or 2 other knobs if 240 + at the wheels on 2 seperate rolling roads, one of which reads very low in less than ideal conditions doesn't equate to more than a 300 bhp road car than what does. At least I don't constantly criticise and knock peoples attempts to tune their car or slate other cars people own like you do. You seemed to have appointed yourself as the GTA know it all of the UK and I know alot of people who go on the forum concur with all the above points because its been mentioned to me on more than one occasion.

Don't recall seeing any rolling road print outs from you at any time either. But I tend to be a good judge of bullshitters and I don't think you are making up when you tell us the power your cars making. People who know me will tell you the same thing about me - I don't make bogus claims. If we all relied on a computer print out to prove we were telling the truth for everything we did it would be a very sad world in deed.

Likewise I've known Gary a long time and can vouch that he knows his stuff. His old knackered lower spec dini engine made 190 odd bhp so theres no doubting the newer one will have 200+ bhp. Remember its a turbo 2 engine basically and noone doubts there power potential. And as for tearing him a new asp on the 5 forums thats rubbish, the 5GT turbo boys know and love the car - and many people are using these heads on the 5 GT turbos as they know there are big power gains to be had - and they cna get 200 bhp out of those cars with the shit heads on.

So anyway, back to my original thread.

Helllo, my name is Mick and i'm restoring a Renault 5 Gordini Turbo and need some help sourcing a few parts

Phildini - do you have an ignition module or any body parts laying around... mainly internal wing sections?

If this is all it takes to get some people wound up around here i'd pay to see it after a few beers

Just stick to just facts. :) Nobody gets confused by claims then.

Your car made exactly 240bhp @ 1 bar at the wheels on two rolling roads, so obviously no discrepancies between the two..

Peters car made exactly 210bhp @ a bar at the wheels on two rolling roads also..

So those are the two most accurate RR figures of the two most powerful cars in the club.. And factual, no expected, estimates or 'it could be better if...'

Theres your graph..

http://www.delorean.co.uk/graph.jpg

Here is Peters graph..

http://www.alpinerenaulttuning.co.uk/petefinalrun.jpg

Tony's car made 30bhp more, so is the most powerful. Fact!

Am I Bovvered though?

Postby Tony Smith » Sun Jan 21, 2007 1:57 am

I don't mind who has the most powerful car, that was never the point, I just feel that some people on the site seem more concerned with telling people what they haven't got than being positive about things. If someone else has a more powerful/faster car than thats great (I haven't the money or the expertise to ever expect to have the fastest anything! ) as I said before if I wanted to be fastest I'd have spent the money on the Skyline.

Well bring all these "fast" , competition proven  , GTA's out for some action against my 200 bhp gordini this summer then and i'll blow your doors off just for fun despite trophies , computer calcs etc because if he's only got 210 bhp at the wheels he won't see which way i went !!!!!!!!!
