Alps have so much grip in slow'ish corners that it does rather surprise you when the grip gives up (wet roads or diesel) :D
Alpine A110, Renault Safrane 2.5dt, Hudson Kindred Spirit (Renault powered), transAlp (Honda) and Ducati Multistrada

Yea i'm sure that i saw them clapping as i drove away :P and christ knows what it must be like 4 you turbo boys out there as the Atmo surely must spread its torque out more evenly?, it does kick at 3500rpm and again at around 5000rpm but is'nt the turbo old school were it is like throwing a switch? and with more power and torque then the Atmo it must be a bit tricky in the wet? One day i must get to drive the turbo to see the differance.

Or paraffin!!! Came up on the Boars Head roundabout on the A26 once to see one of those 5ltr plastic bottles split open and slap bang in the middle of the road on the roundabout. I had just enough time to think "I don't like the look of that" and brake before hitting the oil. I went round with an armful of opposite lock like the Alp was on a skid pan! I must have only been doing about 20.

Got back home and the wheel arches and underside were just sprayed with paraffin - you ran your hand over it and it stank of the stuff.
I'm just here for the gasoline.
