Spammers

Postby stephendell » Sat Dec 16, 2006 2:24 pm

Due to the high number of spammers I have turned on manual account activation. That means there may be a short delay before newly registered users can use the forum.

I had already turned on the visual code activation, but obviously software has been written to get around this. Notice that on ebay the visual code is now almost undecipherable even for the human user!!

Anyway they are gone and won't be coming back!! Hopefully!

If there is anyone still on there (apart from the fossil man) that I've missed let me know.

Stephen, why not appoint some moderators to clean it up when you are not online?

There are a bunch of guest postings that are obviously spam that
need deleting. You may need to ban guests from posting if they
don't give up.

Just had another clear out.

Deleted about 700 idiots and drug sellers.

Let me know if I've missed anyone.
