Ok so i know there's been a lot of posting's about this already but i would like some definitive answers! (and it's late and maybe there's been a few too many xmas drinks consumed) I have 16" fronts and 17" rears with compomotive rims all round, the fronts are great but the rears need replacing. They are wearing on the inside much more than the outside. My tyres at the moment are Kuhmo's all round, i know i can replace like with like but is there a better rear tyre which will give better all round traction, wear and quietness whilst fitting with my fronts to give even better all round reponse? I also don't don't want to upset the balance that i already have...

yep - toeing in too much on the rear. FWIW the DeLorean spec is 1-3mm per wheel and with an almost identical weight distribution and wheelbase, should be about right for you too.

Curious to what the "proper" specs are ?

Toe in 4.5mm +_ 0.5mm - sounds like a lot - no wonder the tyres wear.

Doesn't have to be excessive toe in....Jon, I see you have aftermarket wheels so is the car lowered?. If so it alters the rear camber which is non adjustable as standard and wears the inside edges of the back tyres.

is there anything available to adjust the camber i was going to look into some universal adjustable top mounts but i suppose your going to say you cant do it

The top mounting of the shock doesnt change the camber. You have double wishbone suspension, so you need to move the top wishbone. I do a threaded conversion kit, but you have to modify the original top wishbone (or I supply exchange)...Ill get some pics up...

Ill get all that checked out before i change the tyres, thanks. Anyone got any suggestions as to what i should put on?

If you want cheap but good, then Hankook 104s, Falken 512 or 452.

For a few £ more the new Kumho KU31 is supposed to be pretty good.

how much is the kit dave?as i have far to much - camber and dont want to be replaceing tyres every month,also is it possible to get road legal slicks in these sizes 255/35/18 - 215/45/17

It won't wear out that quick... I've run GTAs -40mm lowered as a daily driver and they've lasted well over a year....
